So you think you are a better score predictor than Hansen, Lineker and all the other the tv pundits paid far too much money? Well, let's put it to the test shall we? Euro 2012 starts next month and I aim to run a predicting league on here where we can sort out the Premier league football minded men from the Sunday pub League pie eating boys (and women of course) I've been involved in these quite a few time now for world cups and euros (especially since Scotland have made a habit of not qualifying so I've not been to a tourney since 1998!) and they are pretty good fun and keep you involved in the competition right to the end. how will it work? First off, you must be a BIDKA member. I need to have your email address since this would fill the PM box in a night! 48 hours before a set of games I will email out a form for you to fill in for the games on that day and you fill it in predicting the correct score, obviously not sharing your undoubted vast knowledge with everyone else on the forum before all the predictions are published! You then email the completed form back to me before 6pm the night before the games. I will publish the predictions and league standings at 10pm the night before the games on the forum to give everyone a chance to see what you have predicted. You will receive 1 point for predicting the correct result and 2 bonus points for predicting the correct score. Further bonus points will also be available throughout the tourney on specific games (first scorer, first/second half scores, red cards etc) to add a little spice to the proceedings. There will be a £50 credit prize for the winner to spend with any sponsor and the prestige of being crowned the BIDKA football pundit for 2012......but hey, that prestige should give you enough bragging rights to last to the 2014 world cup! I was also thinking that a smallish donation of say £5 to BIDKA for taking part would be fair? No limit to number of members able to join in on the fun, in fact the more the better, and for those across the water (Liz et al) and those who "admit" to knowing nothing about football the last time we done this for South Africa an American who confessed to knowing nothing about "soccer" came 2nd! If interested reply to post and so long as we get enough responses I'll set this up a week before the tourney starts with a full list of entrants.
