If they are a young pair they properly need more time,a egg guard is good to to see if you have a pair or two females

What strain are they some Discus are more difficult to breed than others .

Sorry OwNz I did not know you have had fry I had a pair a couple of years a go they turned out to be two females

A couple of things to try 1 us RO and mineralize 2 add MB just put enough in to turn the water blue if you put to much MB in you can affect your filter
I find MB settles the pair down.
I find the eggs fuguing is my main problem the more eggs that hatch the better chance you have of the pair raising them

Sure they will. Our Penangs took 9 months to get the hang of it, everytime they spawn they will learn and get a bit closer to raising a good batch, just got to be patient. :)

Doubt it, just a young pair that need to learn, it is frustrating but they'll get there in the end!

dont think it matters what brand, ive found with some the instructions on the bottle giving the amount to use for eggs is too much imo, i normaly put it in in small amounts and use my eye to tell me when ive added enough.

people have it at different strengths, i dont like it too dark myself, its too difficult to clear otherwise, and its not brilliant for the filter if too strong, jmo.
